Tim Says: "I prefer the 7.5" width for a narrow profile, but it's important to factor in what you'll be carrying. Sometimes you need the wider opening of the 9" panniers for cargo."

Pannier measurement note: A 3/4" lip makes the opening on all boxes 1-1/2" smaller than box measurement.
