This was a ride we did in 2010 from Boise to watch  Big Nasty Hill Climb.......Welcome to the Big Nasty Dual Sport Ride sponsored by Happy Trails products at www.happy-trail.com. This ride is for Dual Sport and Adventure Bikes only. On the ride you will encounter city streets, dirt roads, two track roads and paved roads. Please be advised that this is an enjoyable ride and not a race. You need to ride with caution and be expecting oncoming traffic at all times. When riding in a group you are to wait at crucial intersections for the rider behind you. When approaching the rider who is waiting for you at the intersection, if that rider is clear to go raise your left hand and wave him off. If you need to speak to the rider for any reason leave your hands on the grips and approach him. If you are the rider waiting please abide by these rules. It is not about you seeing the other rider and then leaving it is about keeping a chain of riders intact. If you blow it you are expected to ride out and put it back together. We will leave Rocky's Diner at 9 AM and proceed through Boise on paved streets. Before you leave please adjust your tire pressure for the off highway portion of the ride. We will go up Rocky Canyon to the Ridge Road and turn left. We will ride the Ridge to Eagleson Road. We will come out at Robie Creek Summit and turn left towards Clear Creek. When you reach Grimes Creek you turn RIGHT towards HWY 21. Just before HWY 21 you turn left onto Wildcat Gulch and proceed to the road between Idaho City and Centerville. You turn left on this road and take a left at Centerville towards Pioneerville. There is a tricky left up Dodge Lane (none of these intersections are signed) where you proceed to a T and you turn left. This road is not on the GPS Route and it is the conclusion of the Big Nasty 1 Route. Proceed on this road by dead reckoning to the Start of Big Nasty 2 Route. There are some rutted sections on this part that make it interesting. Stop for gas in Garden Valley at the Chevron and then go to the Longhorn in Crouch for lunch. From Lunch proceed up the South Fork Road to Scriver Creek and turn left. Watch for the intersections and proceed to Smiths Ferry. The route does not really go over Packer John; we take a right and come back to the road later. From Smiths's Ferry get to Sagehen Reservoir. From Sagehen go to Dodson Pass and turn left. There are several more intersections that get us to Big Willow Creek and eventually to the Big Nasty Event. You will camp in a special designated area behind the Happy Trails Booth. The local CMA Chapters will feed us dinner and Breakfast. Enjoy the Ride Be SAFE May God Bless You as you enjoy HIS CREATION Tim Bernard
