Happy Trails OSR Racks Kawasaki KLR650 - 1987 - 2007 & 2008

Happy Trails OSR (original side racks) are   compatible with KLR650 for bikes from 1987-2008 ONLY!!. Please note they are  designed for soft luggage only.

Note 1: Original Side Racks do not include a tail rack.

Note 2: If you think you might upgrade to fixed luggage in the future you might consider the Happy Trails  E Model SU Rack  or the Happy Trails A Model SU Rack , suitable for soft and fixed luggage. 

The OSR is our Original Side Rack and one of the first products we made for the KLR. In 2009 the dimension between the mounting holes changed and the dimensions have varied considerably with other years. We use what we call a "spud" for the bolt to go through on the OSR  which limits the tolerance between the holes. The SL & SU Racks have a slotted tab that allows for the variance in dimensions but due to the style of construction on the OSR we don't use a slotted tab.

We have had customers buy the OSR for for 2009+ KLR's and report back that they fit. With the known fitment issue we don't list the OSR for those years.

We recommend the HTP4-1-2M Happy Trails SL Rack for the later years of the KLR. The SL Racks work on the KLR A Model (87-07) and the KLR E Model (08+)

The SL rack also works much better with latest design of Soft Luggage such as the Happy Trails Sahara Soft Luggage
